The bright smile on her face vanished when he told her he was going to propose, she had earlier assumed the ring was hers when he dropped the box on the table between them.

She thought her unspoken sincerity had finally gotten to him after years of nursing an unrequited love but no, he was just showing off the fourteen carat gold engagement ring he bought to propose to his girlfriend.

He was excited and lost in his own world, unconscious of her mood swing, the artificial smile plastered on her face, but then he has always been slow when it comes to people's emotions. She got away with loving him and never got caught despite the fact that she wore her heart on her sleeves.

There are times she wish she can hate him for being blind to the obvious heart eyes she gave him, the fact that she prioritize her friendship with him over any of her relationships. Friends who knew how she felt about him often scolded her for not being courageous enough to make the first move. Little did they know that she was too scared, his lack of reciprocation will eventually cripple their friendship. Like a little fool, she kept it bottled up and watched him fall in love with several girls unworthy of him.
She stood in her peach gown so radiant, lovely enough to bewitch any being but the man she truly want to cast a spell on stood before her on the alter in his dark tuxedo, a blinding smile erupted on his face as he stares at his veiled bride.

While the priest requested for any objection to the marriage, a little devil popped up on her left shoulder and whispered wicked things into her ear which she ignored and watched with a heavy heart as the man of her dreams gave another a ring and said I do.
