A warm season's greetings to all my fellow Steemians and writers.
This is an update about the fourth fiction writing competition week 1 which also happens to be the last competition for this year.
The post for the fiction competition containing the writing prompt went up on the 6th of December. I know it was a bit delayed but I was preoccupied with a lot of things at that time. As it is the month of December, there are many of you who are busy preparing for the festivities. I understand that and in light of that, I believe I should also extend the deadline for the submission of the stories to the contest.
The current pot is at 1.705 SBD for the winner. People who would like to read the previous stories can check out the post here
For newcomers, the introduction post can be found here. It will help you get familiarized with the rules of the competition.
There will be no changes made to the writing prompt for this round of the competition. The writing prompt for the month of December is:
"Christmas is fast approaching. Due to time constraints, Santa decides to lock himself in his workshop to prepare the rest of the gifts for the millions of children around the world that will put a smile on their faces. Unbeknownst to him a new danger lurks nearby bent on destroying the Christmas spirit forever. The man on the moon decides to give the Grinch a second chance and bestows upon him the title of a guardian to protect the season. Will the Grinch save Christmas or will he side with the mysterious enemy?"
I know the prompt might not be suitable for some of you but there are plenty of writers out there who would love a good prompt to work with. I believe this prompt can also help those writers to come up with a story tailored towards Children. So let's try and make merry. <3

2: Minimum word count for the short story is set to 750 words.
3: Please base the story on the prompt that is provided in this competition post, all other entries will be excluded.
4: Place the link to your story in the comments of this post.
The deadline for submission of your stories is the 19th of December. If no story has been submitted by then than I will cancel the competition for the month of December and we will be back in January with a fresh new prompt.
It will be of great help if you can resteem this post so that all your friends who love writing will be able to find out about the competition and be able to take part in it.
There are many people out there who would love to read the awesome stories that you guys bring not just to the competition but also to Steemit.
