It was heard though out the world, although it echoed into every corner only Priests, Gurus, Rabbis, and other religious leaders heard that claim:
Humanity evolution is not yours to command. -- Anon Guest
The first question was the most controversial - Was that the voice of God? Or, to be more accurate - Was that the voice of my God? The arguments broke out almost immediately.
Wars may or may not be in the offing.
They almost forgot to debate the meaning of the message. Seven words without pause or inflection. Simultaneously in the head of everyone who lead a house of faith, or shared the devotion necessary to have one. Buddhists heard it, Muslims heard it, Catholics and Protestants alike heard it. Atheists heard it. Even weird conservatives who thought women didn't have souls heard it.
Those opposed to the very concept of evolution claimed it was the devil. Conspiracy theories erupted wherever two people got together to stop thinking about the actual truth. That the divine powers of the universe had spoken.
A few scientific types actually thought about what it could mean. Whether Humanity wasn't meant to gengineer new species, or whether selective breeding was not its bailiwick... or if it should just stop trying to save species that were going extinct.
But since nobody else seemed to care about the results, the message and the meaning was lost.
