The Gypsy Moth Caterpillar

this one caterpillar has just hatched black color with its long and stiff fur. Older caterpillars have five pairs of blue dots and six pairs of red spots on their backs have little soft feathers. The fur can also cause pain if touched by the skin and can cause dermatitis. In order to spread throughout the forest, the caterpillar climbs to the top of the tree, and spins the thread, dangles and awaits the wind to take them away. This caterpillar also likes to eat some types of leaves, such as maple, or elm and oak trees. .
