Heart Disease Genes Found

Scientists have identified some genes responsible for lethal heart disease. Replacement of heart or lungs is the only treatment for heart disease.

About 50% of those who suffer from heart disease such as 'Pulmonary Artery Hypertension' usually die in five years. But very little is known about why this disease is affected. Scientists claim they are able to identify the five genes responsible for this cardiovascular disease.

After identifying the genes, scientists hope that such a cardiovascular disease can be detected long ago and its treatment will also be possible.

About 6,500 people in Britain are suffering from pulmonary artery hypertension (PAH). Those who are infected with this disease, through the arteries or blood vessels of the heart, the blood lungs into the lungs, the artery becomes thick and strong. This leads to heart failure.

The only treatment for such diseases is the replacement of heart and lungs. But in countries like Britain, there is a long waiting period for heart or lung replacement, because there is a limb of replacement limb.

One of the scientists involved in this study and Professor Nick Morel of the British Heart Foundation said, by identifying the properties of genes, now I understand how this disease is. As a result, we now hope to find new ways to treat the disease.
