Many people in the world hear about one of the Great Indian epic The RAMAYANA which is written by MAHARISHI VALMIKI
Describing whole Ramyana in a blog is impossible but I will try to summarise you main events or (KANDS ) of this epic here.
In this epic author narrates the whole life of RAMA who is one of the legendary, prince of the KOSALA kingdom.
He was not an ordinary human being, he was the form of Lord VISHNU.
He is exiled to the forest for Fourteen years by his Father DASHRATA,on the request of his stepmother KAIKAYI.
After that he travels across the forests of India with his wife SITA and his brother LAXMANA,,
than once a day came when a demon name SURPNAKHA,fight with Laxman
than Laxman cut the nose of her with his crossbow.
To take the revenge of her disrespect,SURPNAKHA planned with her brother RAVANA,(who is the great king of LANKA).
Than he kidnapped SITA and this result the war between RAMA AND RAVANA,,
This is not the war between two person but this is a war of righteousness and unrighteousness.
Finally the righteousness ,truthness,wins over the RAVANA.
And the RAMA return back to their KINGDOM or AYODHYA with his wife and brother.
This is very short description of this epic.
It have almost 24000 VERSES and 500 Chapters or Sargas.
It's basically divided into six KANDS ,,,
BALA KAND OR ADIKAND
AYODHYA KAND
ARANYA KAND
KISHKINDHA KAND
SUNDARA KAND
LANKA KAND
After that there is UTTAR KAND which is also read today but it's not a part of **VALMIKI RAMYANA
**UTTAR KAND is a part of kakbhusundi garud samvad
