The lost city of Stone - Petra, Jordan.

Hello dTube, Hi Steemit!

Earlier this year (April) I was traveling through the Jordan, just a few miles away from Syria (40mins by car). Near the end of my trip, I decided to head south, to Wadi Musa, a quaint little town home to the historic Petra site. One of the current 7 world wonders!

Our visit was nothing short of amazing!

Usually, when places are too hyped, they end up not living up to the expectations. Ruined by the tourism industry, lots of historic sites lose their magic. Fortunately, Petra was NOT one of those places!

There were tons of people, but the Petra complex is huge and walking away from the crowds, exploring all on your own is not difficult at all.

The treasury (Al Khazneh) was built near the time Jesus was said to be alive. So imagine what it must have felt like, to see this with our bare eyes.

Tickets to enter the site are quite pricey... a 1 day pass can cost you around 70USD, which is crazy compared to other famous wordly sites, like the pyramids of Giza. Specially considering the fact, that 1 day is not enough to see half the complex. However, my wife and I purchased what is known as a "Jordan Pass".

Jordan passes should be purchased prior to your arrival in Jordan, and for just a bit more (106USD) you get access to Petra for 2 days, plus all other historic sites in the country AND your tourist visa fees are waived. The visa fees alone are enough to rack up your bill, so purchasing the JP in advance, is a MUST! (this is the site we used to buy our tickets > https://www.jordanpass.jo)

We spent a full day (7 hours) in the complex and were completely exhausted near the end!

This video shows you 12 minutes of our experience! Hope you guys enjoy it!
