Honesty box – a way of life in New Zealand

Dear steemit friends,

While we were visiting New Zealand, we also got to take a look at their lifestyle. One of the things that I love seeing was that the practise of honesty box.

This one is at a road side fruit store on the highway. Contrast to other countries , the store is unmanned . But there is a honesty box for you to pay.

I know that there is this kind of practise elsewhere in the world. But it is such a classic scene that we found often that I have to share. Sometimes, you will see eggs etc on the roadside too. But it's not just the food, things like park fees are also used with honesty box.

This is how you have to do it..

You would pick your fruit from bags labeled already with the price . For this case, one bag of fruits are at $10. And then leave the correct amount in the Honesty Box.

They even have a table and chair for you to enjoy and break the journey. How thoughtful!

The back of the shop was the fruit plantation. I promise my friends were just looking at the plants at the entrance.. nothing illegal .

Please watch on dtube for the action. :)

Happy weekends!
