Lygon Street of Melbourne is famous for Italian food. But recently the street is too commercialized. Their food became too expensive but not yummy enough. Local people have shifted their heart to other places. Degraves Street is one of local's favorite.
到過或計劃到澳洲墨爾本旅遊的朋友都知道Lygon Street有小意大利的稱號，食意菜特別出名。不過原來在當地人的眼中，Lygon Street已經被旅遊業污染，水準大不如前，價錢又不斷飛漲。他們早已變心，"upvote"另一個意菜地區 - Degraves Street。
Located in the heart of Melbourne, Degraves Street is just opposite to Flinders Station, the city's landmark. In between Swanston St and Elizabeth St, the narrow and short Degraves St is compacted with over 10-20 cafe and Italian restaurants.
Degraves Street位於墨爾本市中心，夾在Swanston St和Elizabeth St之間，對面就是地標Flinders Station。與其說Degraves Street是一條街，其實用窄巷更為貼切。不過這條短短的窄巷就聚集了10-20大大小小的咖啡室和意大利餐廳，深得地道人所愛，坐滿街上，非常有氣氛。
I just randomly went inside a restaurant called the Quarter and ordered some ordinary pasta. The taste was extraordinary! As you can see from the first photo, the scallops and mussels were so so fresh and juicy! Mixed with the slice of cheddar cheese and salmon, this was definitely one of the best pasta in my life.
我隨意走進一間較廉價的餐廳The Quarter，再隨意點一個平凡的海鮮意粉，竟然已經充滿驚喜﹗在上圖所見，隻隻帶子和青口都多汁嫩滑、鮮味非常，配合三文魚鬆和片片車打芝士點綴，迸發的滋味絕非香港能夠以同樣價錢吃到﹗
I still remembered how bad experience the pasta used FROZEN seafood in Lygon Street.....(ok, let it go~let it go~)
Next time when you travel Melbourne, be local, don't trust official or unofficial guide books, don't go Lygon Street for Italian food.
Degraves St is million times better!
猶記得我曾經以同樣價錢在Lygon Street叫了同樣的意粉，給我的竟然是急凍海鮮﹗(實在太悲壯~)
下次大家有機會暢遊墨爾本，請放棄Lygon Street吧﹗官方或非官方的旅遊書都不可靠﹗跟當地人，選好味一萬倍的Degraves Street!
