Today's ride had no legs

The heat in Cape Town is seriously picking up. A few days in succession of over 30degC and I don't know what it is about the sun here, but it just feels hotter than any of the other countries I've been - bar Argentina for The Dakar, that place is nuts it's so hot. It was like being slowly brought to the boil in a cauldron of leak and potato soup - the sand is the same colour.

Coach planned me a 4hr ride, which was meant to be full of hard efforts. I'm still super tired from a set of intervals back on Thursday that ruined me and as a result, had no legs on the ride today. I managed 3h25, 70km and just over 1000m, here's a few shots of our jaunt around the Durbanville hills, well specifically, on the way back. My main man Jody was there to comfort me as my legs seem to belong to someone else and did not want to do anything I told them to.

My new bike is playing along nicely and I have my training specific wheels fitted now too with the powertap hub metre on the back. I'll throw up some more pics and some specs on it in the near future, it's such a rad build and I'm stoked with the outcome.

Tomorrow we head to Chapman's Peak for a 3h20 road ride. It's picturesque and as scenic a ride as any you're likely to see. Weather looks good and the wind will have died down a bit by then. I'll post some pics up of that, it's a super stunning place.
