Total crypto market cap: roughly $2.6–$2.7T. CoinGecko currently shows about $2.7T, with BTC dominance around 57.5%.

Bitcoin: around $77K, after pulling back from the recent ~$80K+ area.
Ethereum: around $2.5K.
SOL: around $101.
XRP: around $1.35–$1.36.
HYPE: around $78, and has been one of the stronger large-cap altcoins recently.

The market has recently experienced profit-taking and macro pressure, with some altcoins getting hit harder than BTC. XRP, for example, has been weaker over the last several days.

🚨 Has the ALT bull cycle started?

My take: NOT fully — but I think we're getting close to the setup.

I'd describe the current stage as:
Bitcoin recovery → ETH strengthening → selective altcoin rotation → potentially broad altseason.
There are some very encouraging signals:

🟢 ETH/BTC recently broke into a 7-month high area, suggesting capital has started rotating toward Ethereum.

🟢 Altcoin open interest has recently overtaken Bitcoin's for the first time since late 2024, while the market cap of smaller altcoins has also been rising. That's a meaningful speculative-risk signal.

🟢 BTC has recovered from the June lows around the low-$60Ks toward $80K, giving the broader market much more liquidity and confidence.

But there is a big red flag:

🔴 Bitcoin dominance is still high — around 57–60%. Historically, a convincing altseason usually needs sustained capital rotation away from BTC.
And today's market isn't behaving like a full-blown altseason yet. Some altcoins are rallying strongly while others are selling off sharply. For example, SPX6900 was down about 4.7% amid a broader altcoin selloff today.

My probability assessment🔥

ScenarioMy view
Full altseason already underway30%
Early altseason/rotation beginning55%
Altseason fails and BTC dominates again15%

So I'm leaning bullish, but not calling official altseason yet.

The thing I'd watch most over the next few weeks is BTC dominance + ETH/BTC + whether mid/small-cap alts begin outperforming BTC consistently.

If BTC stays relatively stable around $75–80K while ETH and major alts start ripping higher, that would be a much stronger confirmation that the real altcoin phase has begun.

My take for your trading: I wouldn't chase random low-cap coins yet. I'd rather start building a watchlist of strong-narrative alts that are already showing relative strength, because if the rotation accelerates, those are usually the ones that move first and hardest.
