Source Dark tree shadow tightened my neck, my life faded away with every breath the tree steals from me while my eyes got tainted with red branches

Running breathlessly, climbs the tree, looks down if it's there, feels a hand on his shoulder, a whisper in the ear, I'm here my dear.

Kids never climbed it. Its shadows spooked Mona in the shed. The elm held a secret: a man burned and left for dead, hanging from its branch. Story and photo by me, @hope-k!

The tree loomed over me, grimacing, menacingly. Evil eyes piercing me. Crooked fingers slicing me, Laughing, as tightened grip strangles me. Thanks for reading my entry to the Twitter Story Challenge,

MARIA It was midnight. The girl had woken to the whooshing of dark winds. Heavy rains fell and cast haphazard shapes across her window. She roused and walked to it, looking to the massive trees beyond.

Once lived in a tree happy times then the night came and with it her 2 heels clank clank owls hooting my eyes shut crying would this ever end

The gnarled tree and twisted limbs blocked his way. He hesitated. Too late. The shadow enveloped his soul and sucked away his breath. He withered becoming gnarled too.
