The beach is the home of the world’s first Surf Life Saving club (founded over 100 years ago) and played a key role in the development of several safety techniques and equipment that are still in use today.

Thankfully it was a little baby one, it happens all the time, and it's no big deal. :) I've been surfing since I was five years old and yesterday was the first time I've ever been stung by a stingray.

So it is just after Star Wars, and not too long before Ghostbusters when Mark Hamill and Annie Potts came together to star in a car-jacking comedy(?) called The Hot One - or Stingray - or Corvette Summer...
