Bienvenidos mis queridos amantes de los parques del internet y muchas gracias por haber hecho una parada temporal en mi post, Cartoon Network es un canal que ha producido absolutas joyas de la animación que marcaron un antes y un después, en su momento hable de Adventure Time como uno de esos aciertos excelentes, pero hoy le toca el turno a otra serie que no tiene nada que envidiarle que es ni más ni menos que “Regular Show”. Sin más que agregar prepárense para enfrentarse a toda clase de locuras pues estamos por comenzar.

Regular Show was released in 2010, created by J. G. Quintel and produced by Cartoon Network Studios, it has a total of 261 episodes of 11 or 22 minutes in length. It is a comedy and adventure animation, the story takes place in a park where Mordecai and Rigby work, a couple of friends who love to laze around, play video games and have fun in very absurd ways, during their days there is always some kind of situation or problem that they must solve, since every time this happens it ends up becoming something completely absurd, crazy, supernatural and/or strange, so this pair of friends must solve this problem in order to keep their jobs, since on more than one occasion they will need the help of the rest of the park workers.

Regular Show fue estrenado 2010, creado por J. G. Quintel y producida por Cartoon Network Studios, cuenta con un total de 261 episodios de 11 o 22 minutos de duración. Es una animación de comedia y aventura, la historia se desarrolla en un parque en donde trabajan Mordecai y Rigby un par de amigos que les encanta flojear, jugar videojuegos y divertirse de formas muy absurdas, durante sus jornadas siempre existe alguna clase de situación o problema que deben solucionar siendo que cada vez que esto sucede se termina convirtiendo en algo completamente absurdo, loco, sobrenatural y/o extraño, por lo que este par de amigos deberán resolver dicho inconveniente para poder conservar sus trabajos siendo que en más de una ocasión necesitaran la ayuda del resto de trabajadores del parque.

The animation is curious, it does not stand out for being a masterpiece full of details or anything like that, however, it has a good personality that gives it character and makes it extremely pleasant.

La animación es curiosa, la misma no destaca por ser una obra maestra cargada de detalles ni nada por el estilo, no obstante, la misma tiene una buena personalidad que le da carácter y la hace sumamente agradable.

The soundtrack is one of the best things it has, throughout the series exquisite music from the 80s and 90s is used very frequently, and at the same time these tend to fit perfectly with the plot of the episode in question, which is which makes this section feel extremely pleasant and coherent.

The construction of the world is one of the craziest things that this series has, it is very common for the settings to change multiple times and without prior notice in the same episode, and these changes also look good since despite how random they may seem At first they manage to fit perfectly with the premise of the chapter in question, this being what gives a very pleasant charm to its scenery because, like the plot of the chapters, you never know what to expect from it and That is precisely what makes it interesting.

La construcción del mundo es una de las cosas más locas que esta serie tiene, es muy común que los escenarios cambien múltiples veces y sin previo aviso en un mismo episodio, siendo además que dichos cambios quedan bien puesto que pese a lo aleatorios que puedan parecer en un primer momento logran encajar de forma perfecta con la premisa del capítulo en cuestión, siendo esto lo que le da un encanto muy agradable a su escenografía debido a que al igual que la trama de los capítulos nunca se sabe que esperar de la misma y es precisamente eso lo que la hace interesante.

The plot is extremely fun, it follows a pleasant formula in which the premise of each chapter is self-contained with the exception of the last seasons (we will talk about these later) the point is that from the hand of the protagonists it can be felt as simple things They can become something completely complicated, stupid and/or deadly, which is the charm of the series. The duration is not a problem, its episodes of just over 10 minutes are very digestible and fun, while the self-contained nature of its first 6 seasons makes it possible to watch it without having to follow a specific continuity, which gives it a very pleasant, fun and relaxed feeling.

La trama es sumamente divertida, la misma sigue una fórmula agradable en la que la premisa de cada capítulo es autoconclusivo con excepción de las últimas temporadas (Ya hablaremos de estas) el asunto es que de la mano de los protagonistas se pude palpar como cosas simples se pueden convertir en algo completamente complicado, estúpido y/o mortal, siendo esto el encanto de la serie. La duración no es un problema, sus episodios de poco más de 10 minutos son muy digeribles y divertidos siendo a su vez que el carácter autoconclusivo de sus primeras 6 temporadas hace posible el poder verla sin necesidad de seguir una continuidad especifica lo que le da un sentido muy ameno, divertido y relajado.

This is not a complete disaster but it is evidence of the wear and tear that I mentioned previously and the need for the series to try to innovate to trying to stay fresh, these seasons are not a complete failure but there is a decrease in creativity and the senselessness that characterized the previous seasons. Narrativamente no hay mucho que destacar, como mencione previamente la serie sigue un patrón de mostrar historias absurdas y exageradas que destacan por su creatividad, siendo que el problema que tiene la serie es esto último, a lo largo de la misma se puede denotar cierto desgaste en donde en sus temporadas finales había muchas continuaciones de capítulos o reutilización de conceptos lo que le restaba merito debido a que su encanto se encuentra en el estilo sobre sustancia, y, si el estilo comienza a repetirse el encanto comienza a perderse, afortunadamente no es un completo desastre por lo pese a que algunas cosas se sienten repetitivas en sus últimas temporadas por lo menos sigue teniendo capítulos que le sacan un poco las castañas del fuego; La penúltima y última temporada son las excepciones a la regla debido a que mantienen un mismo tema y una trama relativamente continua, esto no es un completo desastre pero si es evidencia del desgaste que mencione previamente y la necesidad de la serie de tratar de innovar para tratar de mantenerse fresca, no son un completo fracaso dichas temporadas pero si se nota un bajón de creatividad y de los sin sentido que caracterizaban a las temporadas previas, a su vez, este afán de intentar pasar de un formato pseudo episódico a continuo produce que existan muchas incoherencias bastante notorias.

If this series has something, it is the fact that it knows how to characterize its characters in a fun way, without exception its main characters and even some secondary characters enjoy a good role throughout it, this reaches such a point that in quite a few Sometimes more than an entire chapter is dedicated to them in order to get to know them better. This is done slowly and gradually, which means that they can become fond of their various absurd and fun adventures. Although it may sound contradictory, this is also annoying in some cases, the most notable being the insistence on exploring Mordecai's love interests, something that repeatedly leaves the character as a rather pathetic and indecisive being, which ends up tiring. Apart from the above, it can be said that in general terms the series has a small number of characters that work well with them most of the time.

Si algo tiene esta serie es el hecho de que sabe cómo caracterizar a sus personajes de forma divertida, sin excepción sus personajes principales e incluso algunos secundarios gozan de un buen protagonismo a lo largo de la misma, esto llega a tal punto que en no pocas ocasiones se les dedica más de un capítulo entero a fin de conocerlos mejor, esto se hace de una forma lenta y paulatina lo que genera que se les pueda tomar cariño por sus diversas aventuras absurdas y divertidas. Pese a que pueda sonar contradictorio, esto también es molesto en algunos casos, el más notable es la insistencia en explorar los intereses amorosos de Mordecai algo que en reiteradas oportunidades deja al personaje como un ser bastante patético e indeciso lo que termina cansando. Fuera de lo anterior, se puede decir que en líneas generales la serie tiene un número reducido de personajes que los trabaja bien en la mayoría del tiempo.

Regular Show is a series that marked a generation and no wonder, not in vain after its premiere there were many other series that wanted to imitate its success, its charm lay in the organic and excellent way it knew how to combine masterful something absurd with eighties music that pleased children and adults alike, while at the same time, the way of introducing some double meaning jokes in a subtle way in most cases gave it an even more interesting touch. It is for all of the above that it deserves 4.5 stars out of 7, without a doubt it is an animation that those who like eighties music and the absurd should give it a chance regardless of age.

Regular Show es una serie que marco a una generación y no es para menos, no en balde después de su estreno hubo muchas otras series que querían imitar su éxito, su encanto radicaba en la forma tan orgánica y excelente que tenía de saber combinar de forma magistral algo absurdo con música ochentera que agradase a chicos y grandes por igual, siendo a su vez, que la forma de introducir algunos chistes de doble sentido de forma sutil en la mayoría de los casos le daba un toque aún más interesante. Es por todo lo anterior que merece 4.5 estrellas de 7, sin lugar a dudas es una animación que aquellos que les guste la música ochentera y lo absurdo deben darle una oportunidad sin importar la edad.
