I finally figured out a way to record, in the car, while playing along with music from my iPhone! Today wound up being very Beatles-heavy (not as in the song Heavy, but very concentrated on Beatles music).

After much experimentation, it appears that the camera i bought really does suck. ill keep trying in the background to come up with a solution, but for now we're back to playing the odds with the radio.
