I must write the verse I wish to read / nowhere is the tale in yellowed print / awaiting my discovery in some nook —

They say time speeds up as you age...

Mechanical trees and paper leaves / stems and stalks of legacies / sit squat beneath the shaded eaves...

Behind this line — behind this colored tape / lie things restricted: darksome, indistinct...

How many hours and days have here dissolved / while waning orbs peruse the wav'ring script...

Where once a wild fortress breachless grew / I carve a portal — adamantine brick / now dustlike laid by hammer-mind...

Made in the image of curves, contours / spirals, buds, and crystal tendrils / I am in the midst of ruins....

Even three days mostly without power was enough to jar me out of my "normal" routine...

I water all the roots I cannot see / so nurturing long evolution's twine...

Through iterations made clear — or obfuscated more?

Everyday things: a hefty sheaf begins to weigh down heavily decrepit hands: who seek relief in any kind of levity.

A crystal key half-turnèd in the lock / an implement all crimson-light and smoke...

In algorithmic perpetuity / Do all the motions move about the one / who moves, or seems to shift from bound to free...

The strength of wise conclusion is borne by breadth of scope.
