when worlds collide: coronavirus spreading and tesla market value now at $100 billion (they have a bioweapon defense mode remember)

Some times it’s like reading the tea leaves, the bread crumbs that are left behind when you watch something unfold. I was always blown away that Tesla Gigafactory Shanghai made their first car one year after breaking ground on the site — that’s crazy, everything happens in a blink of an eye it seems these days.

Tesla overtakes Volkswagen as value hits $100bn news dropped this morning about their ‘after a dramatic rise in share price’

And then you remember that Tesla very handily have a mode on their car called the ‘bioweapon defense mode’ — kinda handy when you the world starts pumping out coronavirus would you not say?

In fact, maybe it’s important as a company to build not just the next generation of transportation but also to cater for what might be a hostile place to traverse between — it seems that Tesla is one such company thinking about hostile environments be it on mars or here on earth.

Push the button, and the SUV’s massive air filter would kick into gear, filtering out anything in the air — viruses, bacteria, smog — that could hurt the vehicle’s inhabitants

I wonder if Tesla’s will sell more cars in china because of the bioweapon defense mode in the future, I wonder if that will be used more in promotion, I mean I know it’s very hyper naming but it’s actually a real world life changing potential included add-on at this stage.

Watching things unravel makes me think that the real genius is not investing the future it’s preparing for all of the potentials that the data tells us, those companies that adapt and provide services that mitigate our day to day risks in life are the ones that are always going to be in demand no matter what they sell.

Of course I realise that the market share quarter for Tesla could be mainly because to the pre-orders of cybertruck and the model 3, heck even orders for the model-y but it’s interesting when two polarising news topics come up together — I’m understanding how companies of the future are preparing themselves to cover all the data points of the potential future world, laying the foundations down even — heck, the cybertruck is aiming to be a solid road warrior. . .

And you can already grab yourself the ArmorMAX Tesla Model S if you have the money.

What I’m getting at is it’s not hard to see where as human beings we need to position ourselves for future outcomes — what with climate change and displacement of people, border control, crypto assets and NFT ownership/swap digital culture growing in size I have to assume that the future human will be dog tag wearing crypto walking talking economy — atomically swapping access between nations in the blink of an eye.
