2 million dose of corona virus vaccine is coming to the country on Thursday. The Indian government is giving this Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine as a gift to Bangladesh.

Director General of the Department of Health, Prof. Abul Basar Mohammad Khurshid Alam said that the corona vaccine is coming to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 11:30 am on Thursday. The Department of Health will receive this vaccine. This 20 lakh vaccine will be added to the national plan. It will be open to all. Vaccination will begin in the first week of February.

Bangladesh is also officially buying 30 million doses of the vaccine from India's Seram Institute, with the first shipment expected to reach 5 million doses by January 25.

Secretary of the Department of Health Services. Abdul Mannan said the new corona virus vaccine would be administered to 20 to 25 people on the first day in Bangladesh. Vaccination may start from January 26 to 28. Speaking at a press conference at the Prime Minister's Office on Wednesday, Mannan said the plan to distribute the vaccine had already been finalized.

He said that on the first day, doctors, nurses, heroic freedom fighters, teachers, police, army, administration and journalists will be vaccinated one by one. We plan to vaccinate 20 to 25 such people on the first day. We are working on who will be these 20-25 people. About the day of the start of vaccination. Abdul Mannan said, "We have fixed a possible day on January 26 or 27. But it is not final. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the vaccination program. It is to be inaugurated from Kurmitola General Hospital in Dhaka, this is the initial plan.


Kovacin in India is not safe for everyone
The Secretary of the Department of Health Services said that Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Mugda Medical College Hospital, Kurmitola General Hospital and Kuwait Maitri Hospital have been selected for trial application of the vaccine. There, 400 to 500 people will be vaccinated. This vaccine will be given as a dry run or test the day after the first day of vaccination. Then wait a week, according to WHO protocol.

Meanwhile, Foreign Minister. AK Abdul Momen also said that 2 million vaccines would come as a gift from the Government of India.

Apart from Bangladesh, India is gifting Covid-19 vaccine to several other countries. The countries are: Maldives, Bhutan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Mauritius.
