Four days ago, I was able to partake in something that I've been looking forward to do; Educating young ones.

I've been on my community clinicals for the last 3 weeks and we (I and my group members) have been able to involve ourselves in rendering medical services to the community we were given. Actually our major concern have been on immunization; but we had it in mind to have a session with the primary school and educate them on good hygiene practise which we did and it was succesfull.

On that day, we visited the school closest to our health centre and taught the kids. They were shared into two sessions which I handled the senior session and my colleague handled the junior session.

We were able to discuss and teach the child ten on the importance of good hygiene practices in taking care of themselves and their immediate environment. On personal hygiene, key points like; bathing, brushing the teeth, clean attires were explained in bits so they can understand. And for environmental hygiene, the most common and worrisome issue was nailed on which is the act of disposing all sorts of waste anywhere they want to.

The children were really happy to see those whom they look up to and hope to become one day speak to them. Here are pictures from the event.
