Eerie feelings and familiar sensations of loss, mourning, lament and sorrow.

"KENOPSIA"

We classify losses into four main groups: intrapersonal, material, evolutionary, and relational.

  • Intrapersonal: if we have to give up dreams that we can no longer realize.

  • Material: if we lose our economic status in what was supposed to be for our well-being, reputation and what it represented socially.

  • Evolutionary: if we refer to those changes in which we have already left a large part of ourselves and that we will no longer recover anymore.

  • Relational: when we lose something or someone that was significant to us, such as a place or a community in which we felt comfortable freely sharing our experiences and way of thinking.

Losses, whatever their type, will imply overcoming grief in greater or lesser intensity and with a greater or lesser possibility of recovery and replacement. So it involves facing the loss of the situation and having to adapt to the new one. If anything.

Perhaps this sense of loss now is just a subconscious nostalgia and yearning to be able to consume again that smart, interesting and great content that once upon a time was produced in those old-school communities at the beginning of the "social network" in the blockchain. But which has already become extremely difficult to find around here lately.

Whatever it is, I feel like we all kind of wish that we could turn the clock back a bit to recover some of that. But I guess the closest we can come to it these days is by making a sepia-toned movie or by sharing a picture of an empty shopping mall right below.
