@brimax has been sharing some videos of his chickens. He has a much larger flock than us. Our four chickens have a pretty large cool. It was our kids' playhouse, but got re-purposed when they grew up. They have a large run, but nothing grows in there as they will eat anything that tries to.
Inside it's fairly bare. They have a tray with straw to lay the eggs in. The cardboard and tray as to catch the nightly poop and make it easier to clean in there. We clean out each day and do a more thorough sweep at weekends. There's stuff to spray it with to keep the pests under control. You don't want the dreaded red mites. They are tiny, but suck the blood of the chickens.
We get a mix of eggs as the hens are all different breeds. Note the big white one. You won't see any this big in the supermarket.
We wondered if the big one would have two yolks, but it just had one huge one.
We're eating more eggs since we had the chickens. May as well use our own produce.
