Cebu is a province of the Philippines located in the Central Visayas, and consisting of the main island and 167 surrounding islands and islets. Its capital is Cebu City, the oldest city and first capital of the Philippines, which is politically independent of the provincial government.

It is better known as the "Queen City of the South" because of its huge potential in terms of economy and infrastructure. However, Cebu isn’t just all about tall buildings and great opportunities. Cebu can offer blissful destinations that will fascinate you in a lot of different ways.

I was born in Cebu. I grew up witnessing every beauty it has. I know the feeling of what is it to live here in Cebu. I also proved to myself that Cebu City is a must-visit place here in the Philippines. As a Cebuano traveler, I proudly showcase and feature these beautiful and magnificent destinations.

Cebu has so much to offer for everyone. There are thousands of destination that tourists seek to find and visit. Those tourists with an adventurous personality seem to find their own destinations. In my own perspective, there are only 3 reasons to visit Cebu.

1. Adventurous Mountains to Trek to

In terms of adventure and trek, there are a lot of mountains that are very interesting to trek to. I had already trekked two mountains here in Cebu. It was a very fun experience, being with nature, beholding the views and being hugged by the coldest fogs.

Osmeña Peak

The most famous mountain here in Cebu is The Osmeña Peak. Osmeña peak has a cluster of green jagged hills or most likely to be the famous Bohol Chocolate Hills' deformed twin mountain. It has enticing landscapes and relaxing, cold mountain temperatures that surely satisfy the trekkers. You can take awesome shots with the terrific view.

Sirao Peak

Aside from Osmeña Peak, there is a mountain situated in Sirao Cebu City. The peak is famous only to trekkers because it is one of the most accessible mountains within the city. It has that picturesque green meadow panoramic scene below when you’re at its peak. Everyone couldn’t want more but to experience the serene beauty of the place surrounding it with an almost 360 view at its peak. The great thing about trekking to Sirao Peak is that it takes 4-8 hours of hiking! Unlike the Osmeña Peak, it is not an easy hike, you need to be with professional trekkers to guide you throughout the trek.

2. Road Trip to Several Famous Destinations

There are many destinations to visit here in the City. There are temples, churches, landmarks, resorts and more. If you are an indeed a traveler, I'm sure you want to travel from a place to another place. I suggest we must also visit those underrated destinations. I have already written a blog about the two destinations that I visited.

Cebu Westown Lagoon

Cebu Westown Lagoon is a resort here in Mandaue Cebu City. It is a paradise resort where everyone could escape the city life just within the city. It is perfect for the travelers to experience a surprisingly refreshing oasis. Read more about the resort here.

Philippine Taoist Temple

The Philippine Taoist Temple is also situated just in the City. A temple where everyone could spend hours of beholding the architectural designs and the views. The place is full of dragons, lamps, and Taoist- religion designs. The place is good for the travelers to unwind and behold the view of the city. Read more about the temple here

3. Beautiful Nature

Oslob

Oslob is located at the southern part of the Cebu. Oslob is well-known for their tourist attraction the "Whaleshark Watching". I've been there with my brother, we rent a room for our overnight stay in order to catch up a sunrise and to be an early birdy to swim with these creatures. It was a remarkable experience, to capture the gorgeous sunrise and to swim with these giant creatures. I think I should go back there soon and you should visit there too!

Tumalog Falls

Tumalog Falls is also located in Oslob. Tourists can dip and relax to the water with the shades of the trees and bamboo trees that surround the falls. The falls is very magnificent, its landscape is very different, unlike the famous Kawasan Falls which is a lot bigger than this falls and also over-populated by the tourists and locals. The Tumalog Falls is a must-visit falls here in Cebu!

Cebu has more to offer, though I just highlighted and stated some places that tourists/travelers underrated like the Sirao Peak & Tumalog Falls. The places Osmeña Peak and the Oslob Whaleshark Watching are just one of the most famous destinations here in Cebu. I already visited all the places mentioned, I tell you, all of it was worth-visiting to.

So what are you waiting for? Start planning. I hope this blog influenced you to go and travel here in Cebu someday.

Greetings,
