The Cat Fanciers Association recognises 22 cat breeds that can come with solid black coats but unfortunately it seems today more then ever black cats a suffering?

But why is this? Is it purely because of their colour?
Many are saying no its something else entirely...or is it?

You see most of Europe considers the black cat as a symbol of bad luck this seems to be in particular when one walks across the path in front of a person...yes indeed silly but its so frighting because its beliefs are rather extreme.
Its believed to be an omen of misfortune and even to bring you death shortly after.
But luckily in places like the United Kingdom it is commonly considered that a black cat crossing a person's path is actually a good omen.

But if you are thinking this is the reason why black cats arent getting as much loving as others then you would be apparently wrong.

There as now been a few reports from various cat shelters of this weird occurrence.
According to those who are working hard to re-home and look after the many homeless cats it seems there are a number of places finding that they are struggling very hard to re-home the black cats in particular.
Infact some of some of these shelters have had between 20 to even 40 black cats that they just cannot re-home as nobody is taking them!?

Concerned and baffled as to why only the black cats are not getting re-homed the owners of these shelters took it apon themselves to discover why this is happening.

Their discovery concluded that the reason why black cats are not being re-homed is because of peoples fascination with creating selfies and that apparently black cats just dont make great selfies.

Honestly this is upsetting and absurd that people are now in a sense boycotting black kitties because they are harder to capture in pictures.

Some places are offering free neutering for black cats to curb the number of more unwanted kittens its said the situation is more serious then its ever been in the last 20 odd years.

Even the RSPCA have said it sees more black cats or black and white cats coming into their care than any other colour of feline.
On average it takes at least 10 days longer to re-home a black cat compared to any other feline!

Black cats are now less popular because they don't show up well in pictures people ring in to the shelters and will ask for any colour except black...

People want designer kittens and they are often rejecting round-faced kittens in favour of pointy noses.

This designer crap is getting worse guys look beyond what an animal looks like as fur colour makes no difference to how much love they can give.
Kitties are so much more then your tools for social media they can become your constant companion and best friend, yes sure I post sometimes pictures of my cats but none of mine have been chosen for what they look like infact I rescued them they all come with psychological problems and I am happy with whoever they are.

Thank goodness Twitter users have got it right and have been quick to defend their black kitties with many proving just how photogenic the darker cats can be with many pictures, also feel free to comment below with a photo of your black kitty if you own one I will upvote it.
