As you can probably tell by now we're both very interested in cars of all shapes and sizes. So when our friend informed us that he would be visiting for the weekend along with his new Mercedes-Benz AMG-GT, you better believe we were excited. Pair it with a vintage E30 BMW secretly hiding an M3 engine under the hood and you have a recipe for fun or disaster. Friday finally rolls around and everyone knows what is about to go down.
We got ready to head out, but before we could...
There's really not much to say about these two cars so we'll let the pictures speak for themselves. We will say, however, that these two ooze class. The E30 seems frozen in time, while the AMG-GT screams 21st century (seriously that thing looks like a damn spaceship, complete with some switches overhead for added immersion).
Our first stop of the day was Lower Grand in Downtown Los Angeles.
Boasting an impressive 503 horsepower the GT has no problem keeping you firmly planted in your seat. The E30 is usually more suitable for a cruise down a coastal highway, but with the engine swap, it really comes to life on the streets. We quickly grabbed our last few shots and headed off to our next spot for the day.
Spot #2: Under the East 1st Street Bridge
We lined up the cars and snapped a few more shots.
Feeling accomplished for the day, we packed everything up as the sun set and headed out to grab some much-needed dinner. We decided to call it a night a bit early because tomorrow had big things in store.
A little teaser...
