Lightning is one of natures most beautiful displays of power and raw energy. We have lots of it here in Sedona Arizona USA however it mostly occurs every summer during the North American Monsoon season. Convective thunderstorms are a product of the sun heating the earth and subsequent convection of the moisture filled air above it. High pressure rotation and sometimes low pressure rotation cause's the sub-tropical air to flow north into Arizona bringing with it the chemistry that produces amazing thunderstorms.
