개인적으로 아마존의 그로스 서클을 굉장히 좋아합니다. 저에게 많은 영감을 주는 그림이기 때문이지요.
퇴근길에 스팀 생태계의 그로스 서클을 노트에 그려보았습니다. (제 나름대로의 생각이며, 다른 의견들이 있을 수 있으며, 함께 논의할 마음은 활짝 열려 있습니다.)

스팀잇 커뮤니티의 성장은 크게 1) 큐레이터의 증가와 2) 작가의 증가, 두 축이 기반이 됩니다.
- 큐레이터가 증가하면 -> 작가들이 작성한 글의 업보팅량이 늘고
- 업보팅 리워드가 늘면 -> 자신의 컨텐츠에 대해 적절한 보상을 받기 원하는 작가들이 늘고
- 작가가 늘면 -> 양질의 포스팅이 늘고
- 양질의 포스팅이 늘면 -> 다시 큐레이터가 늘게 되는 거죠
그 선순환 고리가 형성되면 커뮤니티의 성장이 이뤄지고, 이는 커뮤니티에서 영향력을 갖기 원하는 사람들의 증가로 인한 스팀파워의 가치 상승과, 스팀 자체의 가치 상승을 불러옵니다. 스팀파워와 스팀 자체의 가치가 상승하면 리워드풀의 화폐가치가 상승하고(스팀달러가 $1수준의 커뮤니티 내의 기축통화의 역할을 충실히 수행한다는 전제하에) 이는 다시 업보팅 리워드 증가로 연결되어 커뮤니티 성장을 증폭 시킵니다.
하지만, 현재의 스팀잇은 포스트의 증가가 큐레이터의 증가로 이어지는 연결고리가 제대로 역할을 못하고 있어, 큐레이터의 증가 속도가 저조해, 그로스 서클이 헛바퀴를 돌고 있는 실정입니다.
현재 커뮤니티 내에서 이뤄지고 있는 어뷰징 등의 논란도 실상 위 그로스 서클이 제대로 작동하지 않고, 제한된 리워드 풀 내에서 보상을 나눠가지려는 작가들만 늘고 있기 때문이라고 생각합니다.
위의 고리가 제대로 돌지 않으면
- 업보팅 리워드가 낮아지고
- 노동 대비 적절한 가치 보상을 받지 못한 고퀄 작가층들이 이탈하고
- 이는 커뮤니티의 질적 가치 감소라는
악순환이 발생되게 됩니다.
따라서, 이를 해결 또는 보완하기 위해서는 큐레이터에 대한 보상 방식과 수준이 제고되어야 하며, 시스템 상 그 기능이 개선되지 않는다면, 커뮤니티 자체적으로 자생적인 활동이 필요하게 됩니다.
큐레이터의 확보는 제 첫번째 스팀잇 글에서 언급한 바와 같이 매우 어려운 일입니다. 큐레이터를 어떻게 확보할 수 있을 지가 스팀잇 커뮤니티의 미래 모습을 좌우하게 될 것 입니다.

On the way home, I tried to draw the growth circle of the steem ecosystem on my note.(It is my own idea, there can be other opinions, and I am open to discussing it together.)

The growth of the Steamit community is based on two factors: 1) an increase in curators and 2) an increase in authors.
- As the curator increases, upvotes of author's posts is inreases
- As increasing the amount of upvoting rewards, the number of authors who want to receive appropriate compensation for their content is inreases
- If authors increase -> more posts
- If the high quality posting is increase -> the curator will increase again.
Once that virtuous circle is formed, the community grows and this leads to an increase in the value of steem power and an increase in the value of steem itself due to an increase in the number of people who want to have influence in the community. As the value of steem power and steam itself increases, the value of the Rewards pool monetary value rises, which in turn leads to an increase in the revaluation rewards, boosting community growth.
However, the present Steemit has a tendency to increase the number of posts and increase the number of curators, so the curves do not work well and the growth rate of the curators is low.
I think the current controversy in the community is due to the fact that the Growth Circle is not working properly and that there are only a growing number of writers who want to share their rewards in a limited pool of rewards.
If the loop does not turn properly
- The upvoting rewards are lowered
- High-quality writers who do not receive adequate value-for-money break away
- This is a reduction in the quality of the community
A vicious cycle will occur.
Therefore, in order to solve this, it is necessary to raise the way and level of compensation for the curator. If the system does not improve its function, the community will need its own activities.
The securing of the curator is very difficult as mentioned in my first steemit post . How we can secure curators will influence the future of the Steemit community. **
