Hey everyone, it's been a while since I've posted here. I still lurk somewhat. I've had to rebalance both my priorities and my portfolio that last 6 months. I am still here however, and hope to post on Hive on a more regular basis going forward. Honest it has nothing to do with the bull market coming back! 😂
I finally bought a companion for my dually truck 'The Beast'. It's a 44-foot 5th wheel travel trailer. It is only fitting that I should call it 'The Lair'.
The Lair is a 'toy hauler' class of trailer, meaning it has a 14-foot garage at the back that offers very flexible space-- but more on the gear later.
In this post I wanted to lay down the WHY. I've been pretty disillusioned with the Pacific Northwest economically, culturally, and politically. I've been based out of here for all of my adult life and am ready for a change, and a better place to raise my young son.
Where will we end up? I have no idea. That's where The Beast and The Lair come in. My family is going on the road next spring, both to explore and look for a new place to sink roots. To that end, we intend to either sell or store most of our stuff. Trailer living necessitates that you live a minimalist lifestyle, which I'm rather looking forward to.
For now I've got The Lair parked in a residential area where it will be outfitted over the winter months. I intend to turn the garage section into an office so that I can continue to work remotely as we travel across the country.
Thanks for reading, and I look forward to sharing more.
Have you ever considered just packing up and hitting the road, not knowing where you'll eventually end up?
