I don’t go to the city often but when I do, I’ll hit at least one shop selling antique furniture, this one in a cellar is my favourite.
I love just looking at everything and I’m not usually going in to find a particular piece but I’m open minded.
I was quite interested in this piece but it’s not perfect for me. I’m looking for something taller, more delicate and refined.
There is definitely a need for more storage in the house but those pieces are always harder to shop for because you need to measure (as if) and consider the logistics of it all.
I spend a fair bit talking to the owner and found out they do deliver and it’s not very expensive espesially if you buy multiple pieces. As we were talking it came out there is a big antique fair in the city next month so I’m most definitely putting that on the calender.
There are always some very interesting items in antique shops and I was particularly intrigued by these massive catalogues of old newspaper issues. Think how cool it would have to one of these and go back to say 100 years to see what was headlining that week. I actually forgot to ask how much these are, which is probably a good thing…
You’re coming home with me!
Scrap what I said about not looking for anything specific, I have been looking for a chandelier just_like_this! I designed our bedroom to have some hints of Art Deco and these elongated prisms fit that to a tee. Though I won’t be putting it up to the bedroom yet as I need it way more elsewhere, but when I buy the next chandelier, I can switch them up.
We do have one in the library but it has plain glass and now that I see how real crystal sparkles in my home, I’m hooked. I still need to properly wipe the crystals clean and wait for that summer sun to hit that room to show the true beauty of this lamp but it was such a great find.
