Cambodia and Cows

Hi everyone!

Recently I've been raising money for a program called Cows for Cambodia. What this program does is help the poor families in rural Cambodia (Cambodia being one of the poorest countries in the world) most families in Cambodia live on less than a dollar a day! They mostly rely on farming as a large source of food and money, but with Cosi, (an influential South Australian Radio and Television personality) program Cows for Cambodia that's no longer the issue! This program takes a pregnant cow and gives it to one of the thousands of families. With this, the family learns how to feed and care for the cow and start treating it like part of the family and to start preparing for their future calf. Afterwards, the cow is taken back to the farm and the family keeps the calf.

The average amount for a cow is around $650USD (which is around $900AUD), 80% of the families would never be able to afford one. Other forms of the program helping include: building a home for a Cambodian family, feeding two hundred-sixty school kids and giving a family a goat! And many more options with varying prices of donations.

I have found this to be a very sustainable program, providing a better life for a family. It has broadened my point of view of countries that aren't as well developed as America, England etc. If you would like to check out the program, here is the link. It's a fantastic program to help give those who would like the opportunity to turn their life around with hard work and dedication.
