Destroyed by innumerable enemies, forces of nature, aliens and countless factors, in several films throughout the history of cinema, New York now wants to rebuild itself decentralized and, unlike the pieces of fiction, the initiatives are very real and want to impact the administration public life and people's lives.
This week, James Patchett, president and CEO of the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) has announced a series of block-related initiatives for the city. These initiatives include the launch of the NYC Blockchain Resource Center, which will serve as a way to educate the public about blockchain, bring together entrepreneurs to launch new ventures, and try to bring industry and government business people together for regulatory talks.
A public competition for blockchain-based applications aimed at improving public sector applications has also been launched. According to the NYCEDC statement, the competition is expected to begin in late 2018.
