🗞 Bitcoin Tracks Stocks Up to $7.4K Before Sliding Back to $7.1K

Bitcoin trended higher along with many traditional markets Tuesday before changing direction and falling as U.S. stock trading closed.

Over the past 24 hours, bitcoin (BTC) fell more than than 1 percent as of 20:30 UTC (4:30 p.m. EDT). By contrast, ether (ETH) rose by 1.5 percent. Most of the other cryptocurrencies were up as well.

Notable asset performances on CoinDesk’s big board include lisk (LSK), up 1 percent, IOTA (IOTA) climbing 1 percent and litecoin (LTC), also up 1 percent. Assets trending downward include monero (XMR) down 3.5 percent and bitcoin SV (BSV), in the red 2.4 percent. All 24-hour price changes are as of 20:30 UTC (4:30 PM EST) Tuesday.

After climbing from the $6,800 level Monday, bitcoin traded in a sideways $7,200-$7,400 range before dropping into $7,100 territory as the U.S. markets closed little changed.

🗞 Tim Draper: Pandemic Could Be The Tipping Point For Bitcoin

The global spread of the coronavirus played a major role in the dramatic 2020 stock market crash. The bailout bill for saving the world’s economy is $7 trillion and rising fast. Bitcoin bull Tim Draper believes this confluence of factors may be the tipping point that allows innovations such as Bitcoin and smart contracts to flourish.

In an interview on April 6, the global venture capital investor said he was skeptical about the government’s infinite money printing bailout plan and said it would take years before that money “permeates” the global economy.

“They are gonna be printing all this money to try to get the economy back after they've basically tanked it,” he said. “They are going to flood it with a bunch of money, and that money is going to be worth less, and less, and less.”

🗞 Bitcoin’s Future: Exactly How a Coming Upgrade Could Improve Privacy and Scaling

If the privacy and scaling upgrade Schnorr/Taproot makes it into bitcoin (BTC), it could pave the way for advanced and heretofore impossible projects. That is, as they say, good for bitcoin.

Schnorr/Taproot has made a great deal of progress recently, moving from a theoretical privacy and scaling idea into actual code. But while the community is very excited about its future, the change is rather confusing. Why? Because it bundles together several different technologies proposed over the years and each one is technically and conceptually unique.

First, there are Merklized Abstract Syntax Trees (MASTs), a smart contract technology developers have been talking about since 2013. Then we add Schnorr signatures, a scaling change first proposed in 2015 by Pieter Wuille, and finally Taproot, a privacy technology built on top of both, proposed in 2018 by Greg Maxwell.

🗞 Bitcoin Cash Approaches Milestone With First Halving Expected Wednesday

Bitcoin cash (BCH), the cryptocurrency that broke off from bitcoin (BTC) due to a heated community disagreement in 2017, is about to hit a blockchain milestone.

At block 630,000, expected to occur Wednesday morning Eastern time, the number of BCH coins created roughly every 10 minutes will fall by half, from 12.5 to 6.25. This will be the first halving for BCH in a sort of spectator sport some on Reddit say they will be watching as it unfolds on the blockchain.

The event is a foreshadowing of the same process happening on a larger scale on the BTC blockchain next month. BCH's market cap is worth about a twenty-fifth of BTC's.

🗞 Nestlé, Tesla Testing Blockchain Solutions + More News

Nestlé has expanded the use of the IBM Food Trust blockchain technology platform to its Zoégas coffee brand, said the major food company. Through blockchain-recorded data, the customers will be able to trace their coffee back to the different origins, and the platform will give users access to the data provided by The Rainforest Alliance, which includes certification information.

CargoSmart Limited, a shipment management technology solutions provider, has conducted a pilot project with COSCO SHIPPING LINES (COSCO), Shanghai International Port Group (SIPG), and Tesla for a new application meant to improve the cargo release process. The pilot project conducts a real-time exchange of shipment data with a terminal operator through blockchain, and it's among the first of its kind, says the press release. During the pilot in December 2019, COSCO and SIPG streamlined the cargo release process by enabling Tesla to accelerate its cargo pick up procedures on a "trusted and secure platform," they added.

As you can see we just broke the upper line of the triangle but look how that break is weak and that we are consolidating just upper that line. It is not a normal move when we break a so big triangle. So I suspect that a massive move is in preparation and that it won't be a UP so be very carefull... If we don't take distance from that upper line, the correction is imminent.
