The name of this art photograph is: The Noose'
Looks scary, eh? Black and white stylization, high contrast drama, linear dynamics, suggestive dark circle, an unquestionable message of death or suicide, right?
BUT...
This is not a noose, this is a train's accessory. A hand holder with an ornament. Making it look dramatically like this is actually a quite funny thing to do... Well, if you like a bit of dark humor, that is. I mean, whoever the joker who made this already put loads of dark humor in it just by designing that spiral on top. :D
What we have here is a transformation of an everyday object into a quite scary image. This is on the table. Black and white gives us a strong expressionist stylization, already priming the thought toward the dark side. Then, we also have a very nicely composed row of lines making tension, out of which comes a strong light creating a dramatic contrast. In the end I have that black, almost invisible cricle around the "noose" which adds yet another dimension of drama by separating the main object from the entire background.
If the light on the "noose" wasn't so limited by the usage of backlight, the image would very probably lack that final step. But, it doesn't!
Please, regard it as fun, not drama, even though it is. Or isn't? Depends on your train of thoughts! :D
