I went to the Lightener Museum in St Augustine Florida and this painting stood out more than any other
Its a painting of a women (Pero) breastfeeding her father (Cimon) while he was incarcerated and condemned to death by starvation. They didnt know she just had a baby and was still producing milk when she went to visit her father. The soldiers would check her for food every time she entered the cell. She nursed him for weeks until the jailer found out. Her selflessness and devotion to her father impressed officials and they released him. Now thats a hell of a story what some would do to save there loved ones. Its kinda wierd to think about your own daughter breastfeeding you but when your starving to death I guess every option is on the table. Im not sure on the date/era this story took place but if anyone knows please let me know.
Here's a few more photos I took from the Museum
