This painting is based upon a scene from a work of fiction.
The atmospheric, 600 page thick novel "They Thirst" by
Robert Mc Cammon. Written in 1981, but an impressive
achievement that still holds up very well today.
In the depicted scene a group of Hispanic survivors are at night
manoeuvring their way out of an apocalyptic sandstorm and overcoming all resistance.
