In the distant 1838, the architect Corsini created this openwork, cast-iron fence for the Sheremetev Palace, commissioned by Count Sheremetev himself. What kind of variety of elements and lines, gilding on details, an unusual grating pattern.
Once there were bronze details, but they were lost. Lights above the gate were originally gas.
The gates are decorated with the family coat of arms of the Sheremetevs.
Above the coat of arms on the gates of the northern wing, the motto is Deus conservat omnia (God preserves everything). Maybe that's why the palace and the fence have survived so well, in comparison with others built at the same time.
