## **¡Hola, mis pequeños comelones!**

Ha pasado un tiempo de todo lo que fue la locura de diciembre, espero que todos hayan pasado un lindo fin de año, son fechas importantes y bonitas, pero sobre todo, espero que hayan comido rico, porque esta es mi parte favorita de ese mes, la comida, por supuesto. Mi familia y yo intentamos hacer algo rico, aunque a veces hay ciertas limitaciones, esta vez me atreví a hacer un pernil (pierna de cerdo) horneado y para ser mi primera vez, estoy satisfecha con el resultado y quería compartirles este proceso. Utilicé estos ingredientes porque anteriormente hice pollo horneado y me gustó mucho, así que repliqué los ingredientes, vi varios vídeos en Tik Tok sobre el pernil horneado y es todo un proyecto y algo costoso, además de que no soy muy fan del sabor dulce que he probado en otras recetas, así que quería hacer el mío a mi manera, aunque no fuera la receta tradicional con vino.

It's been a while since all the December madness, I hope everyone had a nice New Year's Eve. These are important and beautiful dates, but above all, I hope you ate well, because that's my favorite part of that month: the food, of course. My family and I try to make something delicious, although sometimes there are certain limitations. This time, I dared to make a baked ham, and for my first time, I'm satisfied with the result and wanted to share this process with y'all. I used these ingredients because I had previously made baked chicken and really liked it, so I replicated the ingredients. I watched several videos on TikTok about baked ham, and it's quite a project and somewhat expensive. Plus, I'm not a big fan of the sweet flavor I've tasted in other recipes, so I wanted to make my own version, even if it wasn't the traditional recipe with wine.

## **Ingredientes || Ingredients**

- 2 Kg de pernil. - Mantequilla. - Salsa de soya. - Mostaza. - Ajo. - Orégano. - Pimienta. - Sal. - 1 Limón. - 1 Cerveza y media.

- 2 kg of pork leg. - Butter. - Soy sauce. - Mustard. - Garlic. - Oregano. - Pepper. - Salt. - 1 lemon. - 1 and a half beers.

## **Preparación || Preparation**

El día anterior, es decir el 23 de diciembre, empecé con el marinado para dejarlo toda la noche y listo para hornear al día siguiente. En un envase, empezamos derritiendo 2 cucharadas de mantequilla en el microondas junto al ajo picadito, utilicé unos 8 dientes, nos gusta mucho el ajo, así que esto es al gusto, también le agregué el orégano previamente picado.

The day before, December 23, I started marinating it to leave it overnight and have it ready to bake the next day. In a container, we started by melting 2 tablespoons of butter in the microwave with the chopped garlic. I used about 8 cloves because we really like garlic, but you can use as much as you like. I also added some chopped oregano.

Una vez que esté todo derretido, agrego 2 cucharadas de salsa de soya y 2 más de mostaza, junto a una cucharadita pequeña de sal, una pizca de pimienta. Agregué toda esta mezcla a 2 kg de pernil que tenía cortado en una bandeja para el horno, asegurandome de que cubriera cada parte de la carne. Luego de masajear un rato todo el pernil con la mezcla, agregué los líquidos que en este caso estamos usando 1 cerveza y media y jugo de 1 limón.

Once everything is melted, I add 2 tablespoons of soy sauce and 2 more of mustard, along with a small teaspoon of salt and a pinch of pepper. I added this mixture to 2 kg of pork leg that I had cut up on a baking tray, making sure it covered every part of the meat. After massaging the mixture into the pork leg for a while, I added the liquids, which in this case were 1½ beers and the juice of 1 lemon.

Dejé esto marinando y al otro día lo hornee por 2 horas y poco más (según es 1h por cada kilo). Finalmente servimos para nuestra cena navideña venezolana, junto a unas ricas hallacas y ensalada de pollo, estaba delicioso. Para ser mi primera vez, me gustó el resultado, espero que para el año que viene pueda hacer algo un poco mejor, pero siempre agradecida con los alimentos y por poder compartirlos en familia. **¡Feliz año todos! <3**

I left it to marinate and the next day I baked it for a little over 2 hours (according to the rule of 1 hour per kilo). Finally, we served it for our Venezuelan Christmas dinner, along with some delicious hallacas and chicken salad. It was delicious. For my first time, I liked the result.
