The eagle-duck example shows 2 types of people. The duck is a type of person who ...

... always complains and blames others. Ducks are also people who never look for solutions but always accept the state.

Eagles are people that never complain or blame others for something. These people are always looking for solutions.

The eagle-duck example is from the German Money-Coach Bodo Schäfer. To this example there is also a matching story that happened to him.

In America he had reserved a hotel but unfortunately this hotel was fully booked and so he had no room. The lady at the reception told him that and tried to get rid of him. But Mr. Schäfer had a reservation so a solution had to be found. So he asked the lady to call the hotel manager. When the hotel manager arrived he checked the reservation and confirmed it. The manager was solution oriented and asked Mr. Schäfer to wait in the restaurant at the expense of the hotel. The manager organized a room with upgrade in another hotel at the expense of the hotel. Conclusion: The manager was solution oriented and therefore the type Adler. The lady at the reception wanted to simply accept the situation and turn away the customer and is therefore the type of duck.
