Animal photography: What a smiling cutie from Costa Rica

Last year when I was travel around Costa Rica I had a chance to meet the cutest animal ever - sloth. It wasn´t so easy to meet him because they can sleep up to 15-20 hours a day.

Also sloths have an extra vertebrae at the base of their neck that allows them to turn their head on a 270° axis. This enables them to obtain an almost 360° view of their surroundings. The impressive biology of a sloth allows it to spend 90% of its life hanging upside down. It´s not so bad, isn´t it? ;)

They move slower than any other mammal on the planet. They crawl only 30 cm per minute and travel no more than 38 meters in a single day.

Sloths live high in the crowns of trees, they only occasionally can be seen on the ground where they go to defecate about once a week because of that slow metabolism.

Definitely it was my best experience to came across this constantly smiling creature from Cost Rica :)

Pura Vida!
