Well, there are apps to fake the DOF now. Also Apple's new 'Portrait Mode' in the new flashy iPhones tries to do this by software, but it's not quite the same.

Smartphone Macro isn't actually that bad. I've managed to take some decent macro shots with my phone.. but again, it's NOTHING compared to a proper macro lens.
