Masks y Mas, The Coolest Store in ABQ

Central Avenue, the heart of Albuquerque, is full of character. Along this neon studded road you will find many gems, and Masks y Mas is definitely one of them. This locally owned shop is a celebration of Albuquerque culture, regional art, and Dia de Los Muertos. For those that aren't familiar with Dia de Los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, it is a colorful holiday, celebrating the lives of lost loved ones.

As the names suggests, there are masks a plenty for your wearing and decorating pleasure. And the store itself is actually quite lovely to behold, with so much color scattered around.

The best part of this shop is that it provides local artists with an opportunity to distribute their art. Masks y Mas has plenty of original pieces, prints, and they also carry handmade goods like furniture and clothing, all made by local hands.

The entire shop screams New Mexico, and if you are ever in the area, I highly recommend you stop by Nob Hill and give peek in this store. You're likely to find something to perk your interests in this fantastical, colorful shop.
