Hi everyone. Did you miss me? Well I missed this community as it's been a while since I posted here. I have been on sick leave and haven't had much time to engage but hopefully I'll be back and better soon. Did I just share this information with you?

It is the nature of humans not to learn to mind their business. We poke our noses into other people's affairs especially when we feel like we should have an opinion depending on the relationship we share. Even though the relationship might not be mutual.

Would it kill anyone if they don't ask questions about your personal life and just wait to be told. I believe there is a reason why there is a right to privacy. I guess I'll have to put the caption "I have the right to privacy" on my social media pages but then social media isn't exactly a place to lead a private life, is it?馃槀. I don't exactly mind my business on it.

Social media is frustrating especially if you are single . Prior to marriage when I was very single. Oh dear! I was single to stupor. I would literally jump on every dating site and spend hours on social media hoping to meet someone interesting in a bid to have a reason to put an end to the crazy questions of "are you dating now or when am I meeting the lucky one?" Imagine driving one crazy with such questions. I wonder who'd be lucky to have a partner who has gone nuts.

I spend so much time on social media but not on Valentine's Day. I dreaded social media every valentine's Day. It felt like a day chosen to remind me how miserable and lonely I was. Everywhere I turn, there are pictures of lovers, videos of lovers hanging out, gift items received or sent out with beautiful words. Once I made a post on valentine day, I got a comment that said, "Happy Valentine's day! Post a picture of your lover. Oh that's right, you are single. Oops!". This is why on Feb 14, I'd rather watch movies than check my social media pages. I do not even watch WhatsApp status.

Ever bumped into a friend or maybe post a picture on your social media page only to have an old schoolmate or an old buddy slide into your dm to remind you how your biological clock is ticking so fast and why you should be making some marital plans or live in regrets in the nearest future. Like seriously? What if I only care about chemistry? They make it sound like there's a clock somewhere saying, "Tick! Tock! your ovaries are dying". I'm always so polite on social media to such questions even though in my heart, my response is actually "fuck you!".

Another form of poke-nosing I loathe so much is the one from all those aunties and uncles. They'll be like "oh my goodness. Look at how much you've grown. I knew you when you were running around in your underwear and now you are a woman". Hello??? Do you need to give out that information? Yeah you knew me then but newsflash, I'm no longer in my underwear and sharing that piece of information with everyone isn't exactly what I call catching up. It would have been great if it ended there but hell no, they go ahead to ask the almighty question with a smirk on their faces, "So, when are we meeting that special one?"

It doesn't matter to them if you are actually happy as an individual with a good career and a fantastic social life, marriage is the ultimate goal and if you haven't scored it then you must be doing something wrong. Even those in long lasting relationships aren't spared from this. It can be very annoying when someone assumes that you are incomplete because you are not married.

Marriage is a beautiful thing. After marriage you'd think the poke-nosing would end but your woes have just upgraded to 2.0. You add a little weight and they look at you with smiles on their faces. Some are bold enough to ask, "Has it entered?" I wonder what exactly is entering. Woe betide you if your stomach decides to embarrass you and increase in size. Next thing they say is, "it's a baby bump." and when you lose that extra pound? They'd say, you've miscarried. Humans make it hard for other humans to just be themselves. The forming of opinions and poking of noses has seriously got to stop. Perhaps a placard that reads, "My life, my business" is necessary.

Is it that humans are just naturally inquisitive or there is joy derived in not minding one's business? I guess that's one of the reasons social media thrives these days. It's a place where you are allowed to poke your nose into other people's business and sometimes get paid for doing so馃槀.
