Dear @galenkp
This might sound crazy but it is very pertinent to let the world know that it is actually happening. I am not crazy and the last time I went to the hospital, the doctor certified I was okay. I am not daydreaming either. You can choose to do with this information whatever you wish since you were the originator of it all.

On the 15th of July, 2022, as I walked through the streets of hive, I came across a publication by you that read, "Would you love to know how it feels to be without electricity for a period of time. Dial this number and let me take you into a world you never imagined". My friend @merit.ahama and I thought it was a joke. A world without electricity is impossible. How would we survive? Merit called it a bluff unknown to her that the adventurous part of me had crammed your digits. I got home that evening and couldn't sleep. Your words kept re-echoing in my head and I decided to dial the digits. I punched the numbers into my keypad but nothing happened. Instead I got a disconnected call. I tried again but then I gave up and went to bed.
The weirdest thing happened when I woke up the next morning on the 16th July, 2022. I went to pick up the morning newspaper and on it was boldly written the headline, "No More Electricity in the World". I panicked. I ran inside and picked up my phone to dial merit but my battery was flat. There were no lights in my house. No electrical appliance was working. My heart was racing faster than my thoughts. What would my life be like without electricity? How would I stay connected with my friends? My internet? How do I stay disconnected from the rest of the world? My blogging? How do I go about it? Life would be boring without electricity and I would rather die than stay without power. How do I Cook, wash and keep my food fresh? How do I iron my clothes? My life revolves around electricity. I tried to calm my nerves to think and then I remembered my mother wasn't awake yet.
I rushed to my mother's room and showed her the newspaper. I expected her to go bonkers but instead my mother smiled. I touched her forehead to make sure she wasn't having a high fever and she was perfectly okay. My gaze was fixed on her wondering why she found the terrible situation rather amusing.
"Take it easy Zizy", she said, "It's just electricity".
Did I hear her right? "Just electricity?" I asked. "Mum, this is a serious problem. A lot of people depend on electricity to earn their living. They would be jobless. How do we keep warm during winter? How do we cook and preserve food? How do I stay in touch with people without my gadgets powered? There were thousands of questions on how.
I watched my mother think hard for a moment. Perhaps the realisation had hit her that all the luxuries we enjoyed had been taken away from us. The luxuries something as simple as a flick of a switch or a push of a button could afford us. There was so much at stake even her favourite breakfast of bread and bacon. I do not have any idea how we would survive.
My mother looked up at me with a smile, "If we survived back in the days without electricity then we would survive again."
"How?" I asked with tears in my eyes.
"We will'', she said. "Let's look at the basic things we need electricity for. We need electricity to cook, right? Now, we would have to do with firewood, kerosene or gas stove. We no longer have the luxury of a refrigerator so we have to learn to make only fresh meals and cook only what we can finish at once. There are no more hot showers, that saves me from paying electricity bills when you leave the shower running for hours. Now you'd have to boil your water with the stove before bathing. When it gets cold in winter, we will make a fire house where we keep ourselves warm with firewood. If you need cold water during the hot season, the clay pot I inherited from my great grandmother is in the basement. It naturally cools water just like the refrigerator. If you need to iron so badly, I still have the stove iron made by the local blacksmith I dated in high school."

At this moment, I was hyperventilating and I was sure I was going to have a cardiac arrest but my mother continued.
"I know you'd miss Netflix and your phone since you won't have it charged and your gadget but then you would have time for your father and I. Families would bond more. Back in the days, we created our own entertainment for ourselves. Every evening, we came out once the moon was out and we played games. It used to be lots of fun and I can't wait for us to have that back. Families spent enough time with each other and relationship bonds were stronger before the invention of phones and internet and computers. Don't worry about being bored. One great attribute of humans is the ability to adapt to every situation. Yes! communication might be a major problem but I am sure we would figure out a way perhaps you can put your brain into use for once and see if you can invent a way to power up your gadgets without electricity."
As the last words left her, I remembered Solar. Solar can do most things that electricity do and since the world would be without electricity, it would be the perfect time to fully harness the power of solar and save the world from going back to the stone age
Dear @galenkp, I love the world as it is now with electricity. Do you think you can take it all back and leave us just the way we are? I'm sure everyone would agree with me that we have come so far with electricity that it is almost impossible to survive without it.
Thank you so much
