So... The few individual socialist Nazis were dealt with swiftly; expelled, murdered or converted. What the Nazis did, was the same as what Trump and countless other far right populists did: they co-opted parts of the socialist, class-based ideology in their rhetoric, because believe it or not, socialism was quite popular back then. Hitler created more jobs, but only for the war-industry (backed by big western capitalists like Ford, IBM and GE), and working conditions deteriorated fast; unions were intimidated and busted, leaving only Hitler's own union, worker's rights were dismantled and so on. Paternalist and authoritarian? Well, that's exactly the pro-capitalist conservative position. And no, they did not divide the entire German society. To the contrary; they united them under the banner of German pride, honor and strength, killed of individualism with the hammer of ultra-nationalist servitude to The State, none of which is socialist. There's not one socialist bone in the Nationalist Socialist German Workers party.
