Well, in a way they are, yes. But we have to beware of false equivalencies here; one side is blatantly anti-democratic, authoritarian and fascist, the other simply mainstream status quo elitists. Like I said: there's something far worse than status quo. American politics, for as long as I can remember, has always been a choice between two evils, but the GOP has gone so extremely far to the right that they have comfortably arrived in the regions of plain and open fascism. There's no "both sides" here. Not anymore.
