Wow, this response actually contains all the debunked standard right wing talking points... Raising the minimum wage is racist? Have you ever taken the time to think about that for even a few minutes? You actually believe that raising the wage to a level where people don't need two or three jobs is to further repress the ones at the bottom socioeconomic ladder? After all these questions, let me answer one of yours:
How would you like if the minimum wage was whatever you make now? What would that do to your buying power and the value of the dollar?
I would think that would be wonderful; I'd gladly surrender a fraction of my buying power for a more just world.
Okay, one more:
What about all the folks who are teenagers or elderly people who are just supplementing their income, do you want them to have no job at all?
Yes, kids and the elderly shouldn't work unless they really want to, not out of necessity. In fact we ALL should work a lot less and in the not so distant future almost all our jobs will be automated. It's foolish to hold on to a socioeconomic arrangement where everyone needs to have a job, when you KNOW that most jobs will eventually disappear. That is unless we distribute the small amount of jobs among all who want those jobs, which would mean we'd work for only a couple of hours per week.
