Hello football lovers,it was match day eleven in the English Football Premier League and there were just three matches that was played across England.
TOTTENHAM 2 VS MANCHESTER UNITED 2
SUNDERLAND 2 VS ARSENAL 2
CHELSEA 3 VS WOLVES 0
This write up is solely for Arsenal Fc,my club of interest of late.Arsenal were away to Sunderland,a team that has never lost in their home ground called the STADIUM 🏟️ OF LIGHT,this 2025/2026 football ⚽ season,and they called it the fortress, because no opposition team has won there this season and the atmosphere is always intimidating, with the screaming and shouting by the fans in the background.
Arsenal Fc came into this game with a record of eight clean sheet in a row and had never conceded two goals in a full match before now.Sunderland had other plans,they not only scored one,they made it two, which resulted in their equalizer at the closing stage of extra time, bringing to an end Arsenal clean sheet run of form.
At the start of the game,the Gunners clearly dominated proceedings immediately the referee blew his whistle ,but it was Sunderland that drew the first blood in the 36minutes after a poor defensive clearance by Arsenal and DANIEL BALLARD of Sunderland delivers a wonderful piece of finishing, making it one nil to Sunderland at halftime.
In second half,the Gunners replied with two brilliant goals,first was in the 54th minute by BUKAYO SAKA,set up by MERINO inside the box, he kept his cool to find the bottom right corner, making it 1-1 and game on.
The second goal came game in the 74th minutes,this time by LEANDRO TROSSARD,he weaves his way past some Sunderland defenders and unleashes a magnificent effort at the edge of the box into the top left corner making it 2-1 in favor of Arsenal.
Thinking the FORTRESS was about to be breached for the first time this season and by Arsenal, Sunderland had other plans,and it paid of in the 94th minutes of extra time, BRAIN BROBBY of Sunderland, perfectly timed is run onto a brilliant pass scoring the equalizing goal and hitting arsenal below the belt, resulting to SUNDERLAND 2 VS ARSENAL 2 at the end of the game.
It was really a sad day for the players and fans.It would interest you to know that the Gunners are really missing key players and i am hopeful they return in time from their various degrees of injury,there is still a lot of matches to be played both domestic and in Europe.Arsenal need them to be back on time and fit for football action.
I just hope this result doesn't affect their morale.
Arsenal Fc next three games are as follow;
TOTTENHAM FC VS ARSENAL FC
ARSENAL FC VS BAYERN MUNICH FC
CHELSEA FC VS ARSENAL FC
Real test coming up for the Gunners.
In summary, Arsenal played really well despite Sunderland low block approach and to me a draw is better than losing outrightly.
Thanks for reading,yours truly
