Statue of Giuseppe Tartini, Piran, Slovenia
The photo shows the monument of famous Italian composer, violinist, musical theoretician and pedagogue of global reputation Giuseppe Tartini (1692-1770). The statue was made in 1896 and is placed on Tartini Square, which is the main city square of Piran in Slovenia. Piran was the birthplace of famous musician. Local museum has a memorial room dedicated to Giuseppe Tartini and there are some of his personal belongings, depictions and manuscripts, including the most precious item, hisviolin, made by famous Italian violin maker Nicolò Amati.
