Until I saw Titanic, I didn’t think I could cry tears from watching a movie at this age. It has the best love-tragedy story I’ve ever seen in a movie. You’re going to want to get some tissue just in case the tears really come. It might.
I only saw the movie last week. Yhhh all these years it’s been out and I hadn’t seen it. It’ll really surprise my friends who understand my obsession with movies. The movie is based on a real story.

THE STORY

A shipcrew looking for a diamond necklace within the ruins of the great unsinkable ship that sunk, Titanic, follows a lead of a painting that leads them to an Old woman Rose, who was a beauty in her youth. The said necklace was a present from her fiance Cal. She narrates the story of the events that led to the sinking of Titanic and her love story with Jack.

Titanic tells the story of how Jack(Leonardo Dicaprio) and Rose(Kate Winslet) met within the presumed unsinkable ship called Titanic. Rose is a born-rich free spirit girl imprisoned in a marriage arrangement to Cal because of her mother, Ruth’s desire to continue living a rich luxurious life. Before she met jack, she was mommy’s little girl and listened to her mother’s advice on marrying Cal for their family’s financial stability.
Jack is an artist(as a hobby) and wins tickets to board the titanic in a gamble game and comes aboard the ship with his friend Fabrizio. The first time he sees Rose is when she goes away to blow off steam and get some fresh air after an event with her fiance upset her. Coincidentally, Jack meets Rose for the very first time standing at the edge of the ship with suicidal thoughts .

He engages her in a conversation and talks her out of it in a rather funny way. Her husband-to be invites him to have dinner with them as a token of his appreciation for saving his fiance. At the dinner, he meets all sorts of people from the rich class and tries to blend in with them.

The two become friends and later get intimately attached. They hangout and chat, he shows her his skeches and one time, he even sketchs her naked wearing only a diamond jewel sometime: the same diamond the shipcrew set out to find.

In trying to impress people and make some headlines for the media, the ships captain overworks and overspeeds Titanic into an iceberg causing water to flood into the compartments of the ship. They think they’ve controlled the water breach by sealing the base compartment doors but it is later when the ship’s maker or carpenter tells the captain the ship will sink in an hour, 2 at most considering the damage it had taken from the impact of the crash with the iceberg. They try to save as many people as they can taking women and children off the ships first using boats whiles they call for reinforcements. Even still, will they be able to save everyone on time?

Meanwhile Jack had been locked up in the base compartments all this while when he was framed for stealing the diamond necklace from the girl he "claimed" he loved after sleeping with her. Rose refused to evacuate the ship without him and set to his rescue. She gets him and they make their way to the third level to board a boat. Unfortunately for them, they didn’t get to board a boat and they sank with the Titanic. They swim up on the water surface and jack finds something to put Rose on whiles they wait for a rescue team to come to their rescue. The ship piece he put her on unfortunately can not hold them both so he stays submerged in the freezing water whiles holding Roses hand and sadly dies before the rescue team finds them.

MY COMMENTS

I like Titanic for its dramatic nature which strong feeling of affection and sacrifice it portrays. The movie teaches us that there's no “class” when it involves issues concerning love. Cal with all his money and jewellery still doesn’t get Roses love due to his attitude. Jack the poor artist on the otherhand wins the heart of the young miss and nothing could come between them, not even death staring them in the eyes

The movie shows us courage and sacrifices at its extreme. Men sacrifice their spots within the boats for his or her wives and daughters knowing fully well they're passing up their tickets to measure but they are doing it boldly. Facing death head on with an option out but choosing death to offer your kid or wife a future.
It discourages show offs. Why do I say this? Had the ships captain not try to show the ship off in newspaper headlines, he wouldn’t have overworked and sped the sheep into the iceberg that cause the sinking of the great ship. We should take things at a slow pace, at our own pace.
Check the movie out if you haven't, it's worth your time trust me. Thanks for reading
