Sometimes being stubborn can be good for us and sometimes it can make things worse. I think it depends on the situation and it can vary what we could be stubborn about. I feel at some places we should be stubborn when it is necessary but sometimes we should listen to other people as well.
So, when I was being stubborn did it turn out good? Well yes, sometimes it did, and one of them was when I was stubborn about removing toxic people from my life. I began kick out people who would disrespect me. I do not like the feeling of being disrespected. I don't think anyone has the right to disrespect me or toss me around. If it's my mom, I don't care that much lol, but every other people is not my mom and they do not pay my bills. I'm not obligated to listen to them quietly.
So, people may think I am being too stubborn about this subject and I should just forgive and move on. Well, I don't remove anyone without any valid reasons. I do observe them and give them chances to be a better person, but if their pattern is repeated constantly then I have no choice but to remove them. Also, if someone doesn't know how to respect me then why should I keep trying to make them understand? I'm not their nanny, I won't be teaching them how to behave with me. Anyway, I don't see the reasons to keep them in my life anymore.
I won't lie, but I used to care a lot about what someone else would think. There was a time when I really wanted to have people around me because I thought having someone is better than having no one at all. But now, I think of it differently. I'm a kind person that doesn't mean I'll let people misuse that. However, having the wrong people around me can make me fee morel drained.
I don't feel lonely and I am a lot happier than before. I only keep the people who gives me positive vibes and I don't feel like I am doing anything wrong here, I'm just trying to protect my peace, from the people who were trying to ruin it. As you guys already know, I have anxiety issues so I need to stay calm. So, yeah I don't have a big group of friends.
And, yeah I became stubborn about this. I had made a choice that whoever would make me feel bad I will not keep them in my life. When I told my mom about it, she said, "You can never live alone." But I am already doing it and now I can say that I did prove it.
But then there is another thing where my stubbornness didn't really help me. It was my eyesight.
I don't know why but I have been avoiding going to the eye doctor. Or maybe I know the reason, lol. Even though my family and friends kept saying I should go, I still thought that, I don't need glasses at this moment. And thought maybe, the money should be spent for something useful. And I thought my eyes were okay because I could still see people it's just blurry, lol. But when I am having trouble to see things, or read things from afar, I still didn't feel like visiting a doctor.
But recently I found out that my eye power has increased. Now I have more minus power in my eyes and I can't see things properly. I actually need glasses now. I think if I had gone to the eye doctor earlier then my eyes wouldn't be at a bad state. Still now I didn't pay visit to the eye doctor, hehe. But I'll next month for sure.
So, yeah being stubborn taught me two different things. Sometimes it can help us to stand up for ourselves and protect our peace. But sometimes we become stubborn about something that we shouldn't and then it only makes things worse.
I think I still want to be stubborn when it comes to my self respect but when it comes to my health, maybe I should listen a little more to other people in my life.
