John 10:10
10KJV:The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
AMP:The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).
The thief in the above passage is the "DEVIL". Not a mere mortal man like in our society today that goes about stealing because of hunger or lack and people tag him " THIEF"
This thief the bible was talking about and referring to, is the devil. He is the thief that comes to steal, kill, and destroy.
Often times we make the mistake of looking at the big things the devil comes to steal from our lives and overlook the smallest and minutes thing.
We think or feel all the devil wanna steal from us is our money, house, or that what he wanna destroy is our marriages, our business, our source of wealth. Let me agree with you for a minute, that he can also steal and destroy that, but are those the major things in a Christian's life? Of course No.
The sole thing and paramount thing the devil is after is your life, as a child of God, your salvation, your peace, your Joy. He is willing and will go any miles to destroy your life as a child of God, thereby stealing your Joy, your peace of mind, your happiness and from there your blessings too.
The question is: Can the devil really steal from us without God's permission and approval? Can He destroy our lives without a YES! From the Lord? Can he kill our Joy and peace of mind on his own?
The answer is NO. This thief; the devil can never harm a true child of God without God's permission. Remember Job in the bible, that was his case, the devil could have not done any harm to him without God's permission.
The latter part of our bible passage says:..." I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly..."
Christ came to give us life and a life more abundantly.
Between the devil's ministry and God's ministry, which would you accept and yield to?
Of course that of life right.
The devil's handwork is only to kill, steal and destroy life but God came to give us life.
The devil; the bible says goes to and fro the whole earth seeking for who to devour.
And God say, He will keep thee in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on him.
No matter the tribulations and the storms the devil is putting out in our path, the Lord assures us that he will keep us in perfect peace if our mind us stayed on him.
Conclusion
I believe our mind is stayed on God as he will keep us in perfect peace. For he has given us life and a life more abundantly through his only son Jesus Christ.
